Peace agreement should be on Ukraine's terms - Speaker of UK House of Commons Hoyle
Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom Sir Lindsay Hoyle is convinced that a peace agreement should be on terms acceptable to the people of Ukraine.
He said this at a briefing for journalists, answering questions from the Ukrainian News Agency.
"Can we trust putin? Let's look at what he has done. If a peace agreement will ensure long-term peace, but only on terms acceptable to the people of Ukraine, that is another question. Ukrainians must decide whether these terms are acceptable to them," he said.
According to him, Ukraine's fate cannot be decided without it.
"Britain supports Ukraine, not putin," he added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom Sir Lindsay Hoyle believes that russia is not serious about a ceasefire.
As a reminder, on March 27, russian dictator putin proposed discussing the introduction of temporary external administration for Ukraine. According to him, such administration could be carried out under the auspices of the UN or several countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to putin's words by proposing the introduction of external administration for the aggressor country of russia.
