Ukraine becomes the world leader in frozen raspberry exports

In the 2024 calendar year, compared to 2023, exports of Ukrainian frozen raspberries increased by 34% to a record-breaking 65,000 tons.

This is stated in a message by the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Ukraine, which 10 years ago practically did not export frozen raspberries, for the first time became the world leader in net exports of this berry, overtaking not only Poland, but also the unchanging long-term leader in this segment - Serbia," the message said.

It is noted that in general, over the past three seasons, exports of frozen raspberries from Ukraine have more than doubled, while the volume of exports from Serbia has not changed, and Poland has generally reduced it by 24%.

Exports of frozen raspberries from Ukraine to Germany over the past three calendar years have increased 4.5 times, to the Czech Republic - 4.2 times, to Austria - 33 times and to France - twice.

Also in 2024, Ukraine for the first time sent over 2,000 tons of raspberries to the markets of Belgium, Italy and Lithuania.

In addition, Ukraine continues to dynamically increase exports of frozen raspberries to the markets of Canada and the USA, which pay a significantly higher price than importers from the European Union.

Among the non-traditional directions of frozen raspberry exports is the supply of commercial batches of Ukrainian products to Argentina and Saudi Arabia.

In the 2025 calendar year and in the 2025/26 season, we should expect records to be broken in the volume of raspberry exports from Ukraine and further strengthening its leadership.

In particular, as early as 2025, Ukraine may overtake Serbia in terms of total frozen raspberry exports.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, raspberries in Ukraine were twice as expensive as in 2023.
