Ukraine receives draft agreement with US on subsoil - Svyrydenko
First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko confirmed that Ukraine has received a new draft agreement with the US on minerals.
She stated this at the "hour of questions to government" in the Verkhovna Rada, which was broadcast by the MP from the European Solidarity faction Oleksii Honcharenko on the YouTube channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Regarding the agreement with the United States. We have indeed received the text of the agreement, we are currently working on it," she said.
Svyrydenko called the text of the agreement a working version that reflects the position of American legal advisors.
According to her, Ukraine's position on this text of the agreement is currently being formed.
The minister states that "any public discussions currently regarding the text of this agreement only harm the negotiations" and "prevent constructive discussions with American partners."
"As soon as a consensus is reached, we will definitely come out with a public position to the MP of the Verkhovna Rada," she added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking about the new draft agreement with the US on minerals, noted that it is too early to talk about the agreement, the version of which has been changed repeatedly, it should be worked out by lawyers.
Verkhovna Rada member from the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak reported that the new draft agreement with the US on minerals provides that 3 out of 5 people in the US Reconstruction Investment Fund have full veto rights, the US contribution is already provided to Ukraine since 2022, and the draft does not contain any security guarantees.
