Russia trying to transfer combat operations from Kursk Oblast to Sumy Region - Border Service

The russian federation is trying to transfer combat operations from the russian Kursk Oblast to the Sumy Region with the help of sabotage and reconnaissance groups and expand the penetration zone. This was stated on TV by the State Border Guard Service spokesman Andrii Demchenko.

"If earlier the majority of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups were exposed in the north of the Sumy Region, now in some cases we record their attempts to approach closer to the southern and southeastern parts of the Sumy Region," he said.

It is reported that in this way the enemy is trying to transfer combat operations from the Kursk Oblast to the territory of Ukraine.

"The enemy has accumulated enough of its group to knock out the Defense Forces of Ukraine from the Kursk Oblast, where our units were conducting their operation. Our task, first of all, is to hold our defenses in order to prevent the enemy from advancing, as we are now seeing in the direction of the settlements of Novenke and Zhuravka," the State Border Guard Service spokesman noted.

He added that the enemy uses the tactics of small assault groups that try to cross the border as quickly as possible and accumulate.

Demchenko assured that all enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups are effectively destroyed by the Defense Forces.

Since the beginning of this year, the enemy has been most actively using its sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the Sumy Region, where the length of the border is over 530 km.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have become more active in the Sumy Region, using fiber-optic drones and accumulating forces.
