"Drone Coalition" allocates EUR 20 million for reconnaissance UAVs for Ukraine
"Drone Coalition" has allocated EUR 20 million for tactical-level reconnaissance UAVs for the Defense Forces, delivery of the equipment is expected within three months. This is announced in a statement from the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The partner countries of the Drone Coalition have decided to allocate EUR 20 million from a joint fund to purchase tactical-level reconnaissance UAVs (ISR) for the Defense Forces. Delivery of the equipment is expected within three months," the statement said.
Deputy Defense Minister for Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko noted that the partners responded to a critical need.
"The prompt response and flexibility in making this decision are important, especially now, when the Defense Forces really need them. Thanks to them, the military can scout the area and increase the situational awareness of their units, which is important for successful combat operations," she noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January, the press service of the UK government reported that the "Drone Coalition" had signed contracts worth a total of GBP 45 million for the supply of 30,000 drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Drone Coalition was formed in February 2024 during a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine (Ramstein), Latvia, together with the UK, are coordinating the work of the initiative.
It currently includes 18 countries: Latvia, Great Britain, Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Germany, Sweden and Ukraine.
