Refinery destroyed in Kharkiv Region as result of night attack by russian UAVs — media

On the night of March 17-18, the aggressor country russia carried out a strike on the Kharkiv Region using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As a result of the attack, the AES Group oil refinery in the city of Merefa was destroyed.

The RBC-Ukraine agency reported this with reference to the AES Group press service.

The company said that about 20 drones were launched at the oil refinery. The air attack lasted about two hours.

It is noted that this attack on the Merefa refinery was the fourth since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"Until yesterday, the plant was operating at only 10% of its capacity, but after the last attack it was completely destroyed," the company reported.

AES Group added that a security guard at the enterprise was injured as a result of the drone attack. His condition is not specified.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of March 17-18, russian troops carried out an air attack on Ukraine, using almost 140 drones of various types.
