Delegations of Ukraine and US start meeting in Jeddah

A meeting of delegations of Ukraine and the United States has begun in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

This was announced by the head of the Office of the President, Andrii Yermak, on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"A meeting of delegations of Ukraine and the United States has begun in Saudi Arabia. We are starting work," he said.

Yermak added that the meeting with the US team began very constructively.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported on the Telegram channel that the delegations of Ukraine and the United States have already begun a meeting in Jeddah.

From the Ukrainian side, the meeting is being attended by the head of the Office of the President, Andrii Yermak, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Pavlo Palisa.

The American side will be represented by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor to the US President Michael Waltz.

The key topics of the meeting will be the path to peace and bilateral relations between Ukraine and the US.

The President's Office reported that during his official visit to Saudi Arabia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already held a meeting with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in Jeddah.

Zelenskyy noted the country's efforts to find ways to achieve a just and lasting peace, in particular, the organization of a meeting of delegations of Ukraine and the US, which will take place on March 11 in Jeddah. The President emphasized that Ukraine wants to achieve peace as soon as possible and is committed to constructive dialogue.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier on Tuesday, Yermak announced the arrival of a Ukrainian delegation to Saudi Arabia, where negotiations between Ukraine and the US are to take place today. He added that the Ukrainian delegation has a "clear vision of ending the war" and intends to defend Ukrainian interests.
