Zelenskyy tries to apologize for quarrel in White House – It is regrettable that it happened this way
Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer, and the President’s team and Volodymyr Zelenskyy himself stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts. It is regrettable the meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be.
Zelenskyy wrote this on X.
“Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive,” Zelenskyy stressed.
According to him, Ukraine is ready to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible and work under the leadership of Trump to achieve lasting peace.
The President named steps that could become the first stages of ending the war:
- release of prisoners;
- an immediate ceasefire in the sky: a ban on missiles, long-range drones, bombing of energy and other civilian infrastructure;
- an immediate ceasefire in the sea if russia does the same.
In addition, Ukraine is ready "in any time" to sign an agreement on minerals and security, and to negotiate a final agreement, Zelenskyy stressed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 28, during the public part of the meeting, Zelenskyy got into a heated argument with Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
Zelenskyy said that he could still improve relations with U.S. President Donald Trump after their tense meeting at the White House.
On March 4, the BBC said that Zelenskyy was not going to apologize to Trump.
