Trading volume on PFTS downed 22% to UAH 65.9 billion in February

In February 2025, the total trading volume on the PFTS amounted to UAH 65.9 billion (78% of the previous month's level), or 80% of the total trading volume of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

This is stated in the exchange's message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In January-February 2025, the total trading volume on the PFTS amounted to UAH 150.2 billion (277% of the level of the same period in 2024), or 83% of the total trading volume of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

In the structure of trades in February, the share of Ukrainian government bonds was 79.9% (UAH 52.7 billion, or 151% of the previous month's level), currency swaps - 12.7% (UAH 8.4 billion, or 22% of the previous month's level), foreign bonds - 6.5% (UAH 4.3 billion, or 44% of the previous month's level), corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 0.4% (UAH 0.26 billion, or 27% of the previous month's level), CII securities - 0.4% (UAH 0.24 billion, or 101% of the previous month's level), shares of Ukrainian issuers - 0.002% (UAH 1.4 million, or 1,166% of the previous month's level) and shares of foreign issuers - 0.001% (UAH 0.7 million, or 84% of the previous month's level).

In February, 10% of transactions were concluded on the "order market", 76% on the "quotation market" (including address transactions), 6% of transactions in the REPO and REPO "with risk control" modes, 5% of transactions in the unilateral auction mode, and 3% of transactions in the SWAP "with risk control" mode.

In February 2025, 44 trading participants concluded transactions with 87 securities issues (52 government bonds, 9 government loan bonds, 7 corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers, 4 CII securities, 8 shares of Ukrainian issuers, 6 shares of foreign issuers, and 1 currency swap).

In January-February 2025, 45 trading participants concluded transactions with 112 issues of securities: government loan bonds - 56, foreign government bonds - 9, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 11, bonds of foreign countries - 13, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 8, CII securities - 6, shares of foreign issuers - 8, currency swaps - 1.

Since June 17, 2024, trading in currency swaps began in the PFTS trading system.

In February 2025, transactions were concluded with currency swaps "US dollar - Ukrainian hryvnia" (ticker: USDUAH).

The total volume of trading in these swaps amounted to UAH 8.4 billion (12.7% of the total trading volume, or 21.9% of the previous month's level).

In February, another public placement of corporate bonds took place on the PFTS.

300,000 units of interest-bearing registered ordinary unsecured bonds of series B of LLC "FC ACTIVITIES" (ISIN - UAT000014717) with a nominal value of UAH 1,000 and a maturity date of February 16, 2028 were placed.

The interest rate on the bonds for 1-4 interest periods is set at 20% per annum.

This is the first primary placement in Ukraine, which was carried out according to the DVP (Delivery versus Payment) principle, and in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation on the procedure for the issue of corporate bonds and their circulation, registered by the decision of the National Securities and Markets Commission of Ukraine dated September 6, 2024 No. 28/21/1105/K03.

Among the 52 issues of government bonds with which transactions were concluded in February, 24 issues - with maturity dates in 2025 (UAH 29.5 billion), 13 issues - with maturity dates in 2026 (UAH 4.9 billion), 12 issues - with maturity dates in 2027 (UAH 11.9 billion), 2 issues - with maturity dates in 2028 (UAH 6.4 billion) and 1 issue - with maturity date in 2029 (UAH 3,000).

From July 26, 2022, trading in domestic government bonds of Ukraine denominated in foreign currency, in the currency of the nominal value, began on the PFTS.

In February 2025, the volume of exchange contracts with government bonds executed in the nominal currency amounted to USD 82.4 million and EUR 185.4 million (17.4% of the total trading volume).

As of March 1, 2025, the number of members of JSC "PFTS Stock Exchange" admitted to trading was 51:30 banks and 21 financial companies.

415 issues of financial instruments were admitted to trading on JSC "PFTS Stock Exchange", of which 121 issues of securities were in the Exchange Register.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January 2025, the total trading volume on the PFTS amounted to UAH 84.3 billion (132% of the previous month's level), or 86% of the total trading volume of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

The PFTS index has been the official index of Ukraine in S&P Emerging Markets since 1997.
