CCD warns of russian disinformation campaign regarding mobilization in Ukraine
In the near future, russian propaganda efforts will focus on spreading manipulative and disinformation messages regarding mobilization in Ukraine, aimed primarily at American and European audiences.
This is reported on the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) website.
"Russian propaganda is actively spreading disinformation and manipulative messages regarding mobilization in Ukraine, using social networks to distribute fake videos and messages, manipulating information and distorting facts," the CCD reports.
The CCD predicts an intensification of this campaign in social networks, in particular in X, primarily in English with an emphasis on audiences in the United States and other Western countries.
"Manipulative and disinformation messages regarding mobilization are aimed at creating for Western society, primarily the United States, the illusion that Ukraine is an "undemocratic state," "human rights are being violated in Ukraine," "Ukrainian people do not support the policies of the current government," and "are ready for peace under any conditions." By spreading these narratives, the enemy will seek to discredit the Ukrainian government in the eyes of American society in order to stop military assistance to Ukraine and persuade Washington to agree to all the Kremlin's demands," the CCD said in a statement.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 14, Oleksandr Fedienko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and a member of the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, denied the possibility of reducing the mobilization age.
On January 19, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that mobilization measures do not cover the needs for manning mechanized brigades.
Recall, in November, the US called on Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18 years.
