US does not plan to allocate new packages of weapons for Ukraine, but it still continues to receive aid — CNN

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump does not plan to announce new packages of military aid to Ukraine. At the same time, Kyiv continues to receive American weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

This is reported by CNN with reference to numerous unnamed American officials.

According to them, the U.S. continues to supply military aid to Ukraine, mostly within the framework of programs that were announced during the administration of former President Joseph Biden.

CNN's interlocutors noted that the public dispute between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump, which took place in the Oval Office of the White House last night, did not affect the situation with the provision of military aid.

It is noted that there are many long-term contracts between arms manufacturers and the US government for the supply of equipment and ammunition to Ukraine.

These contracts were announced as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and are designed for future arms supplies.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, The Washington Post announced the day before that the U.S. presidential administration was considering suspending arms supplies to Ukraine in response to the public dispute between Zelenskyy and Trump.

Recall that in early February, Zelenskyy said that the U.S. had not reduced arms supplies to Ukraine, but "there have been no talks yet" about new military aid packages.
