Rada creates specialized administrative courts: district and appeal
The Verkhovna Rada has created the Specialized District Administrative Court and the Specialized Appeal Administrative Court.
234 people's parliamentarians out of the 226 required voted for the adoption of bill No. 12368-1 on the establishment of the Supreme Administrative Court in the second reading and as a whole, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zhelezniak also reported on the adoption of this bill.
"We have finally fulfilled one of the overdue IMF beacons, where the deadline was December 31 last year," the MP wrote.
The concept was changed and it was decided to create a Specialized District Administrative Court and a Specialized Appeal Administrative Court to the highest specialized courts (as the court of appeal reviews the court decisions of the Specialized District Administrative Court).
The competition for the positions of judges of these courts is to be held by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJ).
It must announce a competition for judges within one month of the law coming into force.
Competitions must take into account the features defined by the bill, with the involvement of the Expert Council (within three years).
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukraine has committed to creating a new court as part of cooperation with the IMF.
