Zelenskyy on Day of Resistance to Occupation of Crimea: Territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of Ukraine are not and will not be subject to compromises
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea that the territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of Ukraine are not and will not be subject to compromises.
Zelenskyy reported this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Zelenskyy noted that February 26 is a day of courage and honesty for all those who did not turn a blind eye to russia's occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea.
"These days, 11 years ago, Russian aggression against Ukraine began - precisely with the illegal, vile seizure of Crimea. But February 26 showed that there will be resistance - resistance of Crimea, resistance of all of Ukraine. This day showed that there are and will be people who will not accept lies and will not surrender their home," he noted.
Zelenskyy added that the years following the occupation of Crimea brought a lot of grief and cynicism, many in the world did not want to understand what was really happening.
"But still, we managed to return the issue of the liberation of Crimea to the world agenda. We founded the "Crimean Platform". We do not give Russia the opportunity to "normalize" the occupation. We are releasing Crimean prisoners from captivity. We continue the fight for the right to a normal life and guarantees of security and sustainable peace for all of Ukraine," the President noted.
Zelenskyy stressed that the territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of Ukraine are not and will not be subject to compromises.
"The territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of Ukraine are not and will not be subject to any compromises. The Day of Resistance in our Crimea is a day of respect for honesty, for Ukraine. And I thank everyone who supports!" the President emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in February 2020, Zelenskyy established the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea, which is celebrated on February 26.
