Air defense forces shoot down 87 of 160 russian UAVs over Ukraine at night
On the night of February 21, 2025, the russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 160 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo. The enemy also struck with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles at the Odesa Region from Crimea.
This is stated in the message of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the air attack.
As of 08:00 a.m., it was confirmed that 87 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones were shot down in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk Regions.
70 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences).
The Odesa, Kyiv, Poltava and Kharkiv Regions were affected by the enemy attack.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 17, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a high-precision strike on the positions of the 2nd motorized rifle battalion of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Armed Forces of the aggressor country, the russian federation, in the area of the settlement of Chumatske (Zaporizhzhia Region).
