The liquidation of the consequences of the russian UAV strike on the Shelter facility continues at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, rescuers are extinguishing smoldering fires.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"As of the morning of February 19, rescuers continue extinguishing smoldering fires and are carrying out work to partially open the shelter structures," the report says.

It is indicated that the radiation background at the Chornobyl NPP industrial site does not exceed the norms. The situation is under control. Work is ongoing.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 1.5 billion to maintain the safe condition of the shelter at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant.
