Air defense forces shoot down 83 of 147 enemy drones at night
On the night of Monday, February 17, russian troops launched 147 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 83 of them, another 59 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of February 17 (from 9 p.m. on February 16), the enemy attacked with 147 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all - russian federation).
"As of 9 a.m., it has been confirmed that 83 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types have been shot down in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa Regions," the report says.
At the same time, 59 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences).
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The Kharkiv, Kyiv, Poltava and Zaporizhzhia Regions suffered as a result of the enemy attack.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of February 15, the russians launched 70 drones over the territory of Ukraine, the air defense forces managed to shoot down 33 of them, another 37 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
Four people became victims of the shelling of the city of Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk Region, which the army of the aggressor country, russia, carried out on the evening of February 16.
