Air defense downed 81 of 112 enemy drones at night
Overnight into Friday, February 7, russian troops launched 112 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 81 of them, another 31 did not reach their targets (lost in location).
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of February 7 (from 07:00 p.m. on February 6), the enemy attacked with 112 Shahed strike UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Bryansk, Shatalovo (all - russian federation).
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 09:00 a.m., the shooting down of the 81st Shahed attack UAV and other types of drones in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Odesa Regions was confirmed. 31 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences)," the message says.
Sumy, Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi Regions were affected by the enemy attack.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of February 6, the russians launched 77 drones and 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 56 drones, another 18 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
