Air defense forces shoot down 65 out of 100 enemy drones at night
On the night of Tuesday, January 28, russian troops launched 100 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 65 of them, another 28 drones did not reach their targets (lost in location).
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of January 28, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 100 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions of Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all – russia) and Cape Chauda (Crimea).
"As of 09:30a.m., it has been confirmed that 65 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of UAVs have been shot down in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson Regions. 28 enemy simulator UAVs were lost in location (without negative consequences), two flew off in the direction of Russia and Belarus," the report says.
It is reported that the russian UAV attack damaged buildings of private enterprises, infrastructure facilities, apartment and private houses, and vehicles.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties, and assistance is being provided to the injured.
Special services are eliminating the consequences of the enemy attack in the Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv Regions.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of January 27, the russians launched 104 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces shot down 57 UAVs, and another 39 drones did not reach their targets.
A museum of retro cars was damaged in the Kyiv Region due to a russian attack, and 9 cars burned down.
