Ukraine welcomes Trump's "strong" appeal to putin to end war - Sybiha

US President Donald Trump's appeal to russian dictator vladimir putin to end the war against Ukraine as soon as possible is a strong signal.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said this on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

According to him, Trump's post, which was published on the Truth Social network on January 22, became a "strong message" and a "strong signal".

"We must increase pressure on russia and force it to negotiate. We need US leadership. We need more US participation," Sybiha said.

He added that Ukraine welcomes such statements by Trump and believes that the American leader will emerge victorious from negotiations with the russian dictator.

In addition, Kyiv hopes that such statements will give it an additional chance to gain momentum in diplomatic efforts to end the war.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 22, Donald Trump said that if vladimir putin does not agree to sit at the negotiating table, the US will tighten sanctions against russia and impose tariffs on all russian exports.

As a reminder, the American publication The Wall Street Journal wrote that Trump instructed the special representative for Ukraine and russia to end the war within 100 days.
