Trump's suspension of US international aid does not apply to military aid to Ukraine – NSDC

The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has denied that the suspension of U.S. international aid by the new U.S. President Donald Trump concerns military aid to Ukraine.

This is stated in the CCD’s message on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Reports are circulating on the Internet that U.S. President Donald Trump has suspended all U.S. international aid, including military aid to Ukraine, by his Decree for 90 days. This is not true. In fact, Trump's Decree concerns international aid within the framework of "Development Programs", which relate to the activities of UN agencies, peacekeeping initiatives, refugee support programs, etc.," the message says.

The CCD notes that Ukraine receives assistance from the U.S. within the framework of the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF) programs, the U.S. President's decree does not apply to these programs.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 20, Donald Trump was sworn in as U.S. President for the second time.

Immediately after taking office, Trump signed a number of high-profile decrees, in particular, temporarily suspending all U.S. foreign aid programs for 90 days to conduct checks on their compliance with the new administration's policy goals.
