Court sends TV presenter Max Nazarov, who is accused of spreading russian propaganda, to custody
The Solomianskyi Court of Kyiv sent the famous Ukrainian TV presenter Max Nazarov to custody with the possibility of posting a bail of UAH 12 million.
Nazarov himself reported this on his Telegram page.
The TV presenter, who at various times worked, among others, on the Nash and Newsone TV channels, is accused of "spreading Russian propaganda".
Nazarov himself claims that he is being tried for the words spoken by the guests of his broadcasts.
"Pre-trial detention or 12 million bail. I am being tried for the words of the guests of my broadcasts. The guests have no criminal cases. This is a precedent - a journalist for the words of the guests," wrote Nazarov.
It is worth noting that the SSU detained Nazarov the next day after an interview with the former owner of the Nash channel, Yevhen Murayev, where the latter criticized the Ukrainian authorities. Murayev himself is hiding abroad.
Nazarov stated in court that he last contacted Murayev before the start of the full-scale invasion, and that he does not share his views. The presenter also emphasized that he had never knowingly spread russian propaganda, and had not left the territory of Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion and had "worked for the good of Ukraine."
It is worth noting that according to Article 72 of the Law "On Television and Radio Broadcasting", in cases where remarks and appeals by a person who is not an employee of a television and radio organization were made live, the television and radio organization is not liable for such violations, except in cases where employees of the television and radio organization did not take measures to stop the violation live.
As previously reported, journalist Kriukova stated that she would appeal Zelenskyy's sanctions against her in the Supreme Court.
