Near Vovchansk, russian troops try to break through our defense lines – Kharkiv troops group

The operational situation in the Kharkiv direction has not undergone significant changes and remains difficult. The Ukrainian defense forces continue to restrain the onslaught of the russian occupation forces.

This is reported by the press center of the Kharkiv Operational and Tactical Troops Group.

As noted, over the past day, with the support of aviation, the enemy tried three times to break through the defense lines of our defenders near Vovchansk. The russian occupiers carried out 5 air strikes using 6 KABs (guided aerial bombs), 27 NARs (unguided aerial missiles), as well as 62 strikes with kamikaze drones. In addition, they carried out 409 attacks on the positions of the defenders of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 17, 174 combat clashes took place on the front, the hottest direction was Pokrovsk, where 79 clashes took place during the day, the enemy also actively advanced in the Kramatorsk direction (26 attacks).

Earlier, the russians struck our positions in Vovchansk with the TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system. The enemy attacks were repelled, and the deterioration of the tactical situation was not allowed.

Earlier, DeepState reported that the Ukrainian military had regained control over the settlement of Shevchenko in the Pokrovsk District of the Donetsk Region. Meanwhile, russian troops occupied the village of Zelene and advanced in several other settlements in the region.

Meanwhile, the russian army occupied Neskuchne, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine regained their position near Uspenivka.
