Military capture Zakhar Prilepin's bodyguard
In late 2024, the Ukrainian military captured the bodyguard of russian propagandist Zakhar Prilepin, whose car was blown up in May 2023.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The man who was captured is 32 years old. He had long worked for Prilepin and accompanied him during trips to the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk Region.
Even before the start of the full-scale war, he fought as a reconnaissance rifleman in the Zorya battalion, and from February 24, 2022, he participated in the capture of part of the Luhansk Region.
He was reported on suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: participation in a terrorist organization (Part 1, Article 258-3) and encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine (Part 2, Article 110). For this, he may receive life imprisonment.
In addition to him, three residents of the Luhansk Region, who helped the russians capture Siverskodonetsk, Lysychansk and Rubizhne as part of the 88th and 2nd motorized rifle brigades, were captured. The remaining two are from the occupied territory of the Donetsk Region, they themselves surrendered to captivity near Toretsk.
Previously, one of them fought in the areas of Bakhmut and Pokrovsk, and the second shelled positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the villages of Pisky and Ozarianivka.
All five are suspected of high treason (Parts 1, 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and collaborationist activities (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They, like Prilepin's bodyguard, face life imprisonment.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrainian defenders captured a russian, he turned out to be an Eskimo.
Over the past 1.5 months, the fighters of the Azov brigade have replenished the exchange fund with more than 30 occupiers. They were captured in the Toretsk Axis.
