Air defense forces shoot down 33 out of 50 enemy drones at night
On the night of Friday, January 17, russian troops launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 50 drones over the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 33 drones, another 10 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that last night the enemy attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launched from the Rostov Oblast of the russian federation), as well as 50 Shahed strike UAVs and simulator drones of various types from five directions: Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all – russian federation).
"As of 09:00 a.m., it was confirmed that 33 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Odesa Regions. 9 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences), another 1 UAV left Ukrainian airspace in the direction of Romania," the message says.
Enemy drones were recorded hitting enterprises in the Odesa Region.
In addition, as a result of the fall of downed enemy UAVs, buildings of institutions, private enterprises and households in the Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Kyiv Regions were damaged.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of January 16, the russians launched 55 drones over the territory of Ukraine, the Ukrainian military shot down 34 of them, and another 18 did not reach their targets.
