MPs block signing of law on repealing Economic Code

Members of Parliament have blocked signing of law on repealing the Economic Code.

This is stated in draft resolutions No. 6013-P, 6013-P1, 6013-P2, 6013-P3, 6013-P4, 6013-P5, 6013-P6, 6013-P7, 6013-P8, 6013-P9, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

All registered resolutions propose to repeal the Rada's decision of January 9 on the liquidation of the Economic Code.

Among the authors of the draft resolutions are: co-chair of the European Solidarity faction Iryna Herashchenko, head of the Batkivshchyna All-Ukrainian Association faction and party Yuliia Tymoshenko, head of the Smart Politics inter-faction union Dmytro Razumkov.

Until the draft resolutions are considered at a meeting of the Rada and "failed" in the vote, the speaker of the parliament will not be able to sign the adopted bill and submit it to the President for signature.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Rada has canceled fines for dishonest arms suppliers and the Economic Code.

A Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, Halyna Yanchenko, argues that the fines were canceled because they exceeded the profitability of arms suppliers for the contract.
