Population buys currency by USD 1.2 billion more than sells in December
In December, the population bought currency by USD 1,196.5 million more than sold.
This is stated in the reporting data of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
On the cash foreign exchange market in December, the net purchase of foreign currency by the population exceeded the sale.
In December, Ukrainians sold currency worth USD 1,297.1 million in equivalent, and bought USD 2,494.3 million in equivalent.
In 2024, the population bought USD 11,054.4 million more than sold.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2023, the population bought USD 3,362.1 million more than sold.
According to the results of 2022, the population bought currency for USD 1,009.5 million more than sold.
In 2021, the population sold currency by USD 1,214.7 million more than bought.
In 2020, sales of cash currency exceeded purchases by USD 1.098 billion.
