President Zelenskyy signs law on Gambling Commission liquidation and strengthening control over online casinos

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed bill No. 9256-d. It provides for the liquidation of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (Gambling Commission, CRGL).

This is stated in the card of bill No. 9256-d.

According to the document, instead of the Gambling Commission, a new authorized body without collegial status should be created by April 1, 2025. They should also determine the ministry that will form policy in the field of gambling and lotteries.

In addition, the bill includes restrictions on gambling in Ukraine, in particular:

ADVERTISING

The document also prohibits advertising of gambling. Exceptions are advertising on television and radio at night, in media for people over 21 years old, on platforms and in search engines with a target audience over 21 years old.

The participation of military personnel, volunteers, popular people, as well as the use of themes related to war are prohibited in advertising.
