Zelenskyy reports that Kursk operation had unexpected effect
The Ukrainian military, which was able to seize and hold part of the territory of the Kursk Oblast of russia, had a significant impact on the position of the countries of the global south.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during an interview in a telethon.
The President emphasized that control over Kursk is a powerful trump card in negotiations, but he was surprised by how much it affected politicians of the southern states.
"Kursk is a very strong trump card in all negotiations. Especially with countries that are very important to us, especially with countries of the global south. I never thought that it would have such a big impact on them, because they were so under the influence of "invincible russia," he said.
In addition, Zelenskyy noted that the russians made a tactical mistake by sending North Korean troops to the territory of the Kursk Oblast.
"They (the russians - ed.) took the North Korean contingent. Where did they send it? That's where (to the Kursk Oblast - ed.). I believe this is their tactical mistake. I wish them more of them. And that's why there are 12,000 of them who came with weapons, and the Korean (military - ed.) also couldn't do anything. All this works against russia, all this looks like a strong argument for us," he added.
Recall, Zelenskyy stated that some foreign leaders express a desire to keep Ukrainian refugees who are employed and pay taxes on their territory, while at the same time proposing to return those who receive social assistance.
