In December, UNITED 24 platform raised record amount of funds to help Ukraine
Since the beginning of December, the UNITED 24 platform has raised over USD 160 million in aid for Ukraine. This is half of the total amount of funds raised through the platform for the entire year.
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Olena Kovalska has announced this.
"In December, the international platform UNITED 24 raised the maximum record of funds to help Ukraine for its entire existence. December brought Ukraine half of the annual figure - over USD 160 million," she wrote on Facebook.
According to her, as of today, 15 charitable projects have been implemented, including gaming ones. For example, the Minesalt campaign was held in the Minecraft game, during which the salt mines of the currently occupied Soledar in the Donetsk Region were virtually recreated.
One of the most popular charitable projects of last year - UKRAINEinLEGOBricks - has been continued. Artists from all over the world are joining this project to recreate the Golden Gate, the Khan's Palace, the Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater and other buildings from LEGO parts.
In addition, UNITED 24 continues to involve its ambassadors around the world in charity. American historian Timothy Snyder "closed" two collections at once for an air target detection system and sapper robots (jointly with actor Mark Hamill).
Elina Svitolina raised funds to equip a shelter at a school in the Odesa Region, and British actor Mark Strong - in the Cherkasy Region.
Kovalska added that on the eve of the second anniversary of the UNITED 24 platform, two more ambassadors joined her - actresses Alyssa Milano and Hilary Swank.
Also during the year, UNITED 24 was supported by Viggo Mortensen, Robert De Niro, Michael Douglas, Kevin Bacon, Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, Catherine Deneuve, Pierre Richard and many other famous people from around the world.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, within the framework of the ‘SOLEDARITY. Ukrainian Rock-Solid Strength’ project organized by UNITED 24 and the Artemsil enterprise, it was possible to raise more than UAH 58 million for the purchase of FPV drones for the Ukrainian military.
