Total public debt in November grows by 2.8% to record high USD 159.7 billion
The total public (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in November compared to the previous month increased by 2.8%, or by USD 4.37 billion, to USD 159.74 billion.
This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The public and state-guaranteed debt at the end of November amounted to UAH 6,444.68 billion, or USD 159.74 billion, against UAH 6,413.57 billion, or USD 155.37 billion, a month earlier.
The total amount of direct public debt as of the reporting date amounted to UAH 6,365.47 billion (USD 153.03 billion) against UAH 6,134.58 billion (USD 148.61 billion) a month earlier.
At the same time, direct external debt decreased from USD 105.9 billion to USD 109.57 billion for the month.
Direct domestic debt increased in hryvnia equivalent from USD 1,762.97 billion to USD 1,807.99 billion (in dollar equivalent - from USD 42.71 billion to USD 43.47 billion).
State-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to USD 279.21 billion, or USD 6.71 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine's total state (direct and guaranteed) debt for 2023 increased by 30.4% or USD 33.87 billion to a record-breaking USD 145.32 billion.
In 2022, total state debt increased by USD 13.39 billion, or 13.66%, to USD 111.34 billion.
In 2021, the national debt increased by 8.52%, or USD 7.69 billion, to USD 97.95 billion.
In 2020, the total national debt increased by 6.9%, from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
