Explosions have occurred at a local gunpowder plant in Kazan after a raid by Ukrainian drones, the administration of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts of the city reported.
Officials claim that the "cotton" was caused by "scheduled tests" at the plant. "Keep calm," the authorities said in an official statement.
On December 21, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) struck Kazan using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The press service of Tatarstan's head Rustam Minikhanov recorded eight hits. One drone hit an industrial enterprise, six residential buildings. Another fell into a reservoir. The russian Defense Ministry reported on the "prevention of an attempt" to attack Tatarstan by drones.
According to the Kazan city hall, the raid caused a fire in residential buildings in the Sovetsky, Privolzhsky and Kirovsky districts of the city. Authorities claim that there were no casualties, but the Telegram channel Podyom previously reported three wounded.
The Kazan airport temporarily suspended operations due to the drone attack. In addition, all mass events planned for the weekend in Tatarstan were canceled.
