New checkpoint with Poland to open on December 21
On December 21, traffic through the new checkpoint with Poland "Nyzhankovychi - Malhowice" will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Passenger cars, trucks up to 3.5 tons and buses will be able to cross the border. Crossing the border for buses will be possible only by prior appointment in the eQueue system, currently there is a dynamic queue, without registration for a specific time of crossing the border. Registration in the eQueue system is available from 1:00 p.m. on December 20.
"Considering that the checkpoint is new, and therefore permits for regular routes have not yet been issued, crossing the border is currently possible only for irregular carriers. Accordingly, registration in the system is also available only for carriers operating irregular flights," the report says.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that a new automobile checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border "Nyzhankovychi - Malhowice" will be opened for passenger and freight transport, pedestrian crossing will begin after the construction of the appropriate infrastructure.
According to him, the opening of a new checkpoint will reduce the load on existing ones, and it also expands the possibilities of Ukrainian exports.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, there are 1 million Ukrainians in Poland. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to strengthen the Ukrainian consular presence in Poland, in particular, it is planned to open two additional consular institutions in Rzeszów and Poznań.
