Banks set limits on money transfers under state influence - Yuzhanina

The setting of limits on money transfers through a memorandum by banks was under state influence.

Nina Yuzhanina, a Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the European Solidarity faction, a member of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, expressed this opinion to journalists, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"I'm not sure that this is their independent decision. For some reason it seems to me that this is some kind of direct influence of the state, state institutions. Well, since the key players in the banking sector are state-owned banks, no matter what, they became the initiators of fulfilling such "requests," the MP believes.

In her opinion, setting limits means greater control for society and a reduction in opportunities.

Yuzhanina also wonders why the memorandum reduced the limit on free transfers from UAH 150,000 to UAH 100,000.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the memorandum on reducing limits on card transfers contradicts the law on financial monitoring.
