At least 100 North Korean soldiers killed, another 1,000 wounded in Kursk Oblast – South Korean intelligence
At least 100 North Korean (DPRK) soldiers stationed in the aggressor country of russia were killed and another 1,000 wounded during intense fighting with the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk Oblast.
Reuters reports this with reference to a South Korean lawmaker who made the data public after a closed briefing by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) in parliament.
Thus, the official said that the high losses of the North Korean troops are explained by the lack of experience in conducting combat operations using drones and ignorance of the open terrain where they participate in combat operations.
In addition, according to the official, the discrepancies in the assessment of the number of killed soldiers with the data of a U.S. military official, who called several hundred losses, are explained by the relatively conservative analysis of the NIS.
"There was a report that there have been at least 100 deaths and the injured are approaching 1,000," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, units of the North Korean army suffered significant losses in the Kursk Oblast and will be replenished.
At the same time, the Pentagon said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces killed or wounded "several hundred" North Korean soldiers in the war against Ukraine.
