Air defense down 20 russian UAVs, 10 more lost in location
On the night of Tuesday, December 17, the russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 31 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types from the Bryansk and Oryol Oblasts (the aggressor country of the russian federation).
This is stated in the message of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.
As of 12:00 a.m., it was confirmed that 20 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy Regions.
Due to the active counteraction of the Defense Forces, 10 enemy drones did not reach their targets (lost in location). One UAV is still in the air.
No hits were recorded, no information was received about damage or casualties.
"Combat operations continue! Data may be updated," the Air Force emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Tuesday, December 17, the army of the aggressor country, the russian federation, launched several strike drones at Kyiv. As a result of the attack by russian UAVs, debris was recorded falling in three districts of the capital.
