Ukrainian seaports increase cargo processing by 13.4% to 7.6 million tons in November
In November 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, Ukrainian seaports increased cargo processing by 13.4% to 7.6 million tons.
This is stated in the message of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that during January-November 2024, the actual volume of cargo transshipment amounted to 89.9 million tons, which is 70% higher than the indicators of the same period last year (52.8 million tons).
The basis of cargo turnover for this period was grain - 56.1 million tons (versus 39.4 million tons in 2023) and ore cargo - 16.7 million tons (versus 3.2 million tons in 2023).
The Ukrainian Sea Corridor plays a special role in the growth of transshipment, through which 73.4 million tons of cargo were transported in 11 months, of which 6.5 million tons in November.
"These results were made possible thanks to the stable operation of ports, the support of international partners and the efforts of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which ensure the safe operation of the Ukrainian Corridor," the report says.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in October 2024, compared to October 2023, Ukrainian seaports increased cargo processing by 60% to 8 million tons.
