Moscow considering Oreshnik strike on Ukraine this weekend - US national security adviser
The aggressor country of russia is considering a second Oreshnik attack this weekend, a US National Security Council official told the Financial Times.
The official said Moscow was considering a second attack with a new missile as early as Saturday or Sunday.
"As putin has publicly stated, russia intends to launch another experimental Oreshnik missile at Ukraine, and it is possible that russia could do so in the coming days," the official said.
According to him, the aggressor was trying to use Oreshnik to intimidate Ukraine and its supporters, but it is likely that it only has a small number of these experimental missiles, and these weapons have a smaller warhead than other missiles that russia regularly launches at Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 21, russia attacked the city of Dnipro with an experimental medium-range ballistic missile Oreshnik (Kedr), which can carry a nuclear warhead.
Earlier on November 22, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported what was known about the new russian missile.
On December 12, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that russia could launch another Oreshnik missile in the coming days, but this would not change the situation on the battlefield.
