Ukraine really ready for negotiations with russia. Podoliak names conditions
Ukraine is ready for negotiations with russia, but will demand coercion of the russian federation as an aggressor based on international law, as well as fair conditions and a legal framework.
Mykhailo Podoliak, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced this in an interview with Channel 24 on Wednesday, December 11.
Podoliak stressed that there should be no compromises at the expense of Ukraine. According to him, russia is currently trying to humiliate the United States and refuse to help Ukraine. There is hope that the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump understands what game the kremlin is trying to impose, said the advisor to the head of the Office of the President.
"Ukraine is really ready for negotiations with Russia, but you should not expect a simple solution. Ukraine will demand fair conditions, a legal framework, coercion of Russia as an aggressor based on international law," Podoliak emphasized.
In his opinion, 44% of Ukrainians trust Trump, because he supposedly can offer a simple solution to end the war, Podoliak noted. To counter the aggressor, tougher rhetoric and sanctions are needed; suspending russia's membership in international institutions; transferring the necessary amount of weapons to Ukraine; and abandoning all red lines, Podoliak emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 11, the head of the President’s Office, Andrii Yermak, stated that the the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump definitely wants to end the war of the aggressor country russia against Ukraine.
On December 9, Trump confirmed that he had spoken with Zelenskyy about the possibility of ending the war and emphasized the Ukrainian President's readiness for negotiations.
Recall, on November 15, Zelenskyy stated that under Trump, the war in Ukraine would end faster.
