Average salary in Ukraine up 22.2% to UAH 20,600 in 9M
In January-September 2024, the average salary increased compared to January-September last year by 22.2% to UAH 20,592 per month.
This was announced by the State Statistics Service, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The highest level of salaries was registered in the information and telecommunications sector, where the average salary was UAH 50,752 per month, followed by air transport UAH 40,443 per month, and in third place was financial and insurance activities UAH 40,194 per month.
The lowest level was recorded in the field of creativity, art and entertainment, where the average salary was UAH 12,478 per month, in second place was the operation of libraries, archives, museums and other cultural institutions at UAH 12,497 per month, and in third place was education at UAH 13,970 per month.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, some Ukrainians will receive a lower salary in December due to a tax increase.
On November 28, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on increasing taxes, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on October 10 (bill No. 11416-d).
On November 27, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the law on increasing taxes would come into force on December 1, which is a requirement of key creditors, in particular the International Monetary Fund.
