Ukraine will receive EUR 4 billion from EU under Ukraine Facility financial instrument

The Council of the European Union approved the allocation of loans and grants to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 4 billion under the Ukraine Facility financial instrument.

This is announced in a statement by the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The funds will be directed to priority social and humanitarian expenditures of the state budget.

Ukraine implemented all measures specified in the Ukraine’s Plan by the end of the third quarter, which in turn opened the possibility of receiving the corresponding tranche under the instrument.

Ukraine's Plan provided for nine indicators by the end of September 2024.

Reform measures cover such areas as the fight against corruption, the business environment, the labor market, regional policy, the energy market and environmental protection.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the State Budget of Ukraine has already received EUR 12.1 billion under the Ukraine Facility instrument.

It is expected that in 2024, budget support from the EU will reach EUR 16 billion.
