Umerov meets with President of South Korea. What they talked about

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol met on Wednesday, November 27, with a Ukrainian delegation led by Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to exchange intelligence on the growing military cooperation between the aggressor state of russia and North Korea, as well as to discuss joint responses to security threats.

This was reported by the Office of the President of South Korea, reports the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

Thus, during the meeting, Yoon stressed South Korea's readiness to discuss with Ukraine "practical response measures" to counter security threats associated with growing military ties between Moscow and Pyongyang, and to closely coordinate its actions with the United States.

"Both sides agreed to continue exchanging information on the deployment of North Korean troops in russia and on the transfer of weapons and technology between russia and North Korea, working together with allied countries," the office said in a statement.

It is indicated that the Ukrainian delegation held separate talks with National Security Advisor Shin Won-sik and Defense Minister Kim Yong Hyun after their meeting with the South Korean President, during which they exchanged intelligence on North Korean troops deployed in russia and expressed hope for deepening future cooperation with South Korea.

As a reminder, it was reported the day before that a Ukrainian delegation led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov planned to visit South Korea with a request for military assistance. It was expected that the Ukrainian side would present a list of wishes, which includes anti-aircraft missiles and artillery systems.

The publication noted that Umerov did not answer a question from a Yonhap correspondent regarding armed support.

Yoon said that South Korea may consider providing Ukraine with armed support depending on the degree of military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow.

At the same time, Bloomberg reported that Donald Trump's victory in the US election prompted the South Korean leadership to reconsider the possibility of sending weapons to Ukraine, in the war against which North Korea (DPRK) has joined.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 29, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the President of South Korea.
