Ukraine has already produced the first 100 Neptun missiles, and their improvement is also planned.
This was reported by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reports on Telegram.
He also noted that he held a meeting with Ukrainian missile manufacturers. In particular, they discussed plans for 2025, key areas and development of the industry.
"The serial production of R-360 Neptun cruise missiles with improvements to hit targets at longer distances has been successfully scaled up," the minister noted.
He added that the development of drone missiles, including the Palianytsia, is ongoing.
Umerov recalled that in 2022, the Ukrainian Neptun missile destroyed the flagship of the russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine is currently working on a modification of the Neptun anti-ship cruise missile, which once sank the russian cruiser Moskva.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reported that Ukraine has successfully tested the first ballistic missile of its own production.
It was previously reported that Ukraine has modernized its own Neptun anti-ship missiles to strike ground targets of the army of the aggressor country, russia.
