Rada does not want to demobilize men with limited fitness
The Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommends that the parliament reject the bill on the demobilization of persons under the age of 25.
This is stated in the conclusion of the committee to bill No. 12147, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The Committee recommends that the Verkhovna Rada include the bill in the agenda and, based on the results of consideration in the first reading, reject it.
The bill proposes the release from military service of those who were on military registration as those who were recognized as unfit for military service in peacetime due to their health, limited fit in wartime, and who have not reached the age of 25.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada granted a deferral to conscripts under the age of 25 who are deemed unfit for military service in peacetime and limited fit in wartime due to their health.
The bill granted a postponement of conscription for military service during mobilization to thos liable for military service under the age of 25, who were recognized as having limited fitness during wartime, until March 21, 2024.
The provision on dismissal from service of the relevant category of citizens who managed to mobilize before the adoption of this law was removed from the bill for the second reading.
