Russians damage dam of Kurakhove reservoir, water level in river rose by 1.2 m - Donetsk Regional State Administration

The russians damaged the dam of the Kurakhove reservoir, at 4:00 p.m. the water level in the river within the Velykonovosilkivska community rose by 1.2 m.

This was announced by the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, Vadym Filashkin, in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The russians damaged the dam of the Kurakhove reservoir. This hit potentially poses a threat to the residents of settlements on the Vovcha River - both in the Donetsk Region and in the Dnipropetrovsk Region. As of 4:00 p.m., it was established that the water level in the river within the Velykonovosilkivska community rose by 1.2 meters. No housing has been flooded at the moment!" he said.

Filashkin noted that the Regional State Administration continues to monitor the water level in the river and is ready for any development.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 6, 2023, russian invaders blew up the Kakhovka HEPP dam, which led to human casualties, lost homes, and serious environmental consequences.
