Rada registers new bill on decriminalization of porn

The Verkhovna Rada registered a new bill on the decriminalization of porn.

This was announced by the author of the initiative, MP from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Dear friends, we have registered a revised bill on the decriminalization of porn. This version is more conservative, but after more than a year of discussion with the committee and the working group, I am happy to announce that a compromise has been reached," he wrote.

The bill proposes to change Article 301 of the Criminal Code so that adults do not receive a prison sentence of 3-5 years for creating and distributing intimate content.

"This is the decriminalization of porn. So that people are not thrown in prison for storing content or do not conduct mass "secret purchases" in webcams. And at the same time, under Article 301, you can be punished even for storing nude photos on your personal phone," Zhelezniak noted.

According to the bill, criminal liability will remain for: porn without consent (revenge porn, deep fake), extreme porn (violence, zoophilia, necrophilia), porn with the participation of children and its distribution among minors (where responsibility, on the contrary, they want to strengthen).

MP emphasized that pimping, involvement in prostitution and human trafficking will remain criminal offenses.

According to Zhelezniak, 27 MPs signed the bill, including the head of the working group Vladlen Nekliudov and members of the Committee on Law Enforcement.
