8 MPs suggest Rada revoke driver's licenses for driving through yellow traffic light 3 times a year
8 members of the Verkhovna Rada propose to the parliament to revoke driver's licenses for a period of 6 months to 1 year for driving through a yellow traffic light signal three times a year.
This is stated in bill No. 12172, registered in the parliament on November 1, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
For violation of the rules of crossing pedestrian crossings, crossing, overtaking and oncoming traffic, driving at a traffic light prohibiting signal or the gesture of a traffic controller, not giving priority in the movement of pedestrians at unregulated pedestrian crossings committed by a person who was subject to an administrative penalty for the same violations during the year, it is proposed to punish with a fine in the amount of UAH 1,020 (60 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens).
If the specified violations were committed by a person who twice during the year was subject to an administrative fine for any of the above offenses, the punishment will be a fine of UAH 2,500 (150 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens) with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of six months to one year.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2021, 9 MPs proposed to the parliament to deprive the right to drive vehicles for a period of 6 months to 1 year for exceeding the established speed limits of vehicles in settlements by more than 70 km/h.
