Russia fails to undermine election processes in Moldova - Biden on Sandu's victory
US President Joe Biden, against the backdrop of Maia Sandu's victory in the presidential election in Moldova, emphasized that despite russia's efforts, it was not possible to undermine democratic institutions and election processes in the country.
He wrote about this on the X social network.
"On Sunday, the Moldovan people went to the polls and voted in favor of President Sandu’s vision for a secure, prosperous, and democratic Moldova. For months, Russia sought to undermine Moldova’s democratic institutions and election processes. But Russia failed. The Moldovan people have chosen to pursue a path aligned with Europe and democracies everywhere," the message reads.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Sandu won the presidential elections of Moldova with a margin of more than 10 percent.
It will be recalled that the aggressor country of russia transferred almost USD 40 million to Moldova in order to bribe voters during the presidential election held last weekend. According to NewsMaker, this was stated by the head of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cherneutsanu.
