China claims to be unaware of DPRK sending troops to Ukraine
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China assures that it is not aware of the sending of North Korean troops to russia.
The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Lin Jiang, stated this at a press conference to a question whether China can confirm the sending of North Korean servicemen to russia.
Journalists also asked to voice Beijing's position regarding the fact that Pyongyang is moving the "already long" war to a new stage with such actions.
"As for the first issue, China is not aware of the situation. As for the second issue, China's position on the Ukrainian crisis is consistent and clear, and we hope that all parties will seek to de-escalate the situation and undertake a political settlement," Lin Jiang said.
It will be recalled that on October 23, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed that a certain number of North Korean servicemen were indeed transferred to russia for possible participation in the war against Ukraine.
According to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, part of the North Korean military has already been transferred to the central part of the russian federation.
We also wrote that, according to information from South Korean intelligence, North Korean pilots were sent to russia in addition to North Korean ground troops.
