Syrskyi to make decision on new model of military training in December
In December, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi will make a decision on the new model of basic general military training.
Syrskyi announced this on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In particular, he announced that he had held a working meeting on improving the training of military personnel.
"There was a report on the pilot project, which is already being implemented and provides for an increase in the duration of basic general military training from 1 to 1.5 months. As part of the project, the basic general military training program was updated taking into account current needs and challenges. In December, I will make a decision on the new basic general military training model," he said.
Syrskyi does not rule out the next stage of increasing the period of basic training, if the operational situation allows.
"In the future, if the operational situation allows, I do not rule out the next stage of increasing the term of basic training," he said.
The Commander-in-Chief also noted that the Air Assault Forces have become the real flagship of personnel training, and new approaches to training, which are used in the Defense Forces, should also be applied to other components of the Defense Forces.
According to the results of the meeting, Syrskyi gave the task to strengthen the staffing of instructor positions in educational centers. He emphasized that everyone who trains Ukrainian soldiers must have actual combat experience.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, now the term of basic general military training is one month.
In July, Syrskyi stated the need to adapt the training of the military to actions in the conditions of the dominance of drones on the battlefield.
