Hubble telescope takes new image of galaxy approaching Earth

The Hubble orbiting telescope took pictures of the galaxy NGC 4569, or Messier 90. This galaxy is approaching the Milky Way Galaxy, where Earth is located.

This was reported by the European Space Agency.

The galaxy NGC 4569 is located in the constellation Virgo 55 million light years from Earth.

The red areas in the photos are places of dense clusters of gas where new stars are formed.

This galaxy is a spiral. Its core is extremely bright, and the disk is filled with thick clumps of dark reddish dust. A part of the disk shows patches of blue color - they show bright and hot stars.

Previously, astronomers had already taken pictures of this galaxy, but due to the imperfection of the technique, the pictures were unclear. The new photos allowed to create a much more complete picture of the galaxy.

In the next few billion years, the galaxy will approach the Milky Way.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, China intends to expand international cooperation in future lunar exploration after the successful operation of the payloads of the European Space Agency (ESA), France, Italy and Pakistan as part of the Chinese Chanye-6 mission.
